LEGO Icons Transformers Bumblebee 10338 New Release Review Brick Banter

The LEGO Icons Transformers Bumblebee Has Been Revealed

We have a date! Two years after the LEGO Icons Transformers Optimus Prime set was released, we are finally getting a buddy for him. The LEGO Icons Transformers Bumblebee set. Furthermore, this is being released as part of the 40th anniversary of the Transformers franchise.

Bumbleebee

The LEGO Bumblebee set is in scale with the Optimus Prime. As such, the iconic duo are looking spot on! Of course, Bumblebee is a little shorter. Just like Optimus, you are able to transform Bumblebee into easily between bot and vehicle more, without the need to disassemble.

So what does Bumblebee transform into? Well, just like the original toy, it turns into a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. (I don’t think they can officially say that, but that’s what it’s meant to be!).

Now, following on from my video transforming Optimus, it’s not always as easy as it seems. Watch it here. I definitely had plenty of pieces fall off as I transformers. So it will be interesting to see how Bumblebee goes.

This set has 950 pieces and it is modelled after the 1980s robot action figure. Featuring articulated joints, an ion blaster, and a jetpack, seamlessly converting from Autobot to vehicle mode. As always, it comes with a display plaque.

The LEGO® Icons TRANSFORMERS Bumblebee set is available for LEGO Insiders from 1st July 2024 at www.LEGO.com/Bumblebee and LEGO Stores for all from 4th July.
