LEGO Orchid 2.0, but 0.5 the size!
With more and more LEGO botanicals on the horizon, it means more sets to review! There are two mid range botanical sets being released (the other the LEGO Botanicals Lucky Bamboo), with this one being the more floral of the two. But how does it stack up to the previous ones? Read on!
The Pot
Giving us a pastel nougat colour, this set sets a tone of soft colours from the ground up. The base design is no different than the other two botanicals that released late this year, but the pot is a new colour. I also love the continuance of the scratchy gold!
Mini Orchid
Our little orchids are very different to previous LEGO Orchid set, being half the size but still with character. A small simple snap together of clips to Sonic ring elements, the look comes together. What did surprise me here though was the arrival of a new mould. A gold 1×1 stud with clip underneath! And we get quite a few here too!
Our Orchid is also made up of flesh coloured shields, which is not what I expected for a botanical of this scale, but looks fantastic.
As a last little extra, the end of the growing stem is capped with green tulip pieces to encapsulate growth. Nice touch.
Verdict
I’m a big fan of these medium range botanical sets. They’ve grown on me and this particular one is probably my favourite of the four in the range.
For anyone collecting the other potted sets, this is a no brainer. But even on general sense, if you’re looking for approval – you have it here.
