A 4+ set but with a possibly new mould?
LEGO Friends continues for another year, and we’ve been slated with the whole first wave of 2025. Taking a look into the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Ice Cream Van, how does Friends hold up for 2025’s first wave?
The Ice Cream Van
LEGO 4+ sets are always tricky to review, as I am not the intended audience. These sets are designed to use large parts to simplify the building experience but to still give satisfaction of making something.
That being said, looking at the model from this perspective, there are some fun little details to take note of. First up, the front of the vehicle gives us a a new vehicle front print with lights and sprinkles, which is great. We are also given a backdrop with ice cream prices, as well as cone or tub ice cream options.
I like that the top of the menu is slightly melted by the pink ice cream decals above, as well as the ice cream holder at the front.
But I’m sure you are wondering what the new mould is; the hair of the customer! A hairpiece that I have never seen before appears here. It sits higher than normal too.
Verdict
This is a simple introductory set, and although I’m not the intended audience for the set, it has the staples for being a set that littles can enjoy.
