LEGO Masters Australia Vs The World Season 6 Episode 1 Break The Ice Brick Bracket

LEGO Masters Australia Vs The World Season 6 Episode 1 Recap

Challenge – ‘Break The Ice’

LEGO Masters Australia returns for a sixth season, again, with a bit of twist! Instead of eight Australian team battling it out for AUD$100,000, there are only four Australian team. With the other four being from other LEGO Masters series from around the world.

It’s going to be interesting to see the skill gap between the Aussies who haven’t built on TV before, vs. the internationals.

It’s the teams first time in the studio together and they are about to face their first challenge!

Each team is challenged with creating a build that will “break” through a huge sheet of ice. Builds are presented on a huge, combined base that represents the world.

This is a blank slate for teams to announce themselves as creatives, as storytellers, and tell us who they are as LEGO® builders.

They will be playing for the golden brick.

Charlie (VIC) & Haley (QLD) – Australia

Charlie and Haley created a Lava Monster sitting upon a large volcano. Its burning lava to break through the ice.

Eric & Ben (NSW) – Australia

Team Beric went with a sea monster emerging from the ice to discover a Viking Village. The monster grazing down upon the village ready to attack. They used lights in the eyes which worked really well as it burst through the ice.

Dianne & Shane (WA) – Australia

With a great contrast of colours, Dianne and Shane went with a flower that blooms as it breaks through the ice. Using classic bricks for height and volume, and red boat as the petels. They added a bee inside the plant which had motor function making it fly around!

Sam & Emilio (VIC) – Australia

Sam & Emilio created an orange Sea Monster, which captured a fishing boat. The oranage really stood out as it burst through the ice. Despite the team having some struggles keep the head on during building, it was strong enough to break the ice.

Krystle & Michelle – USA

Knowing each other through TV (LEGO Masters US), Krystle and Michelle went with a vintage TV build. The two fairies on the inside represent them, one with a power function spinning around. It was surrounded by a lush garden.

Camille & Caroline – France

After their first concept of just a pencil was shut down by Brickman, Camille and Caroline adjusted their idea, adding some story. Creating Cecile the Deep-Sea Diving Pencil, who was searching for her treasure under the water.

Ida & Peter – Denmark

An absolutely cute build, Ida & Peter built a penguin with dreams of reaching the stars. Blasting out of the water, the adorable penguin is attached to the rocket. Built with a LEGO Technic frame on the inside to help break through the ice. Plus Peter added a power function in the smoke clouds for some movement.

Annalena & Felix – Germany

To melt through the ice, Annalena and Felix built a fire breathing dragon. Annalena worked on the dragon and is clearly a strong model sculptor. Leaving Felix to work on the heavily detailed castle.

Bringing their built together, the dragon is resting on the castle, crashing down one of the towers. The colour of the dragon provides great colour contrasts. A very clean build!

Judging

With all the builds somehow breaking through the ice without and damage, it’s time for judging. So, there is no bottom two in this challenge, and no elimination. Brickman calls forward Annalena & Felix (Germany) and Ida & Peter (Denmark).

They are both compliments on using great colours and having a great story. But Brickman says with the ability to grab your attention and hold it, Felix and Annalena are the winners of the first challenge.

In the next episode, teams pair up with another team to build on and race a real go-kart!
