A cutting-edge hairdresser for your LEGO City.
LEGO Friends continues for another year, and we’ve been slated with the whole first wave of 2025. Taking a look into the Hair Salon and Accessories Shop, how does LEGO Friends hold up for 2025’s first wave?
Hair Salon
A salon straight from a modern overtake of a heritage building, this set certain puts a twist on the LEGO Friends format. With soft pastel colours and a dose of white bricks, this set is definitely unlike the bright rainbow pop of the rest of Heartlake. The Salon is a two-storey building with various head accessories and hairstyles with a few side builds to boot.
Starting with the smaller side builds, we get a small stunt ramp for Nova to tackle with the new roller-skate mould. We also get a photo studio, inevitably for those who get a new hairstyle as a takeaway. I also appreciate the 1×3 printed tile with the girls on it too.
The Salon itself has an array of stickers for the outside decals. It’s a nice mix of graffiti and stencils, and definitely makes it unique. Inside the shop, we are treated to five different hairstyles, excluding the three on the mini-dolls. The blonde Pocahontas hair is a new exciting highlight for me, but most of the interior is a bit empty for my liking. We get a hair bath station, clippers in gold, a hairdryer and shampoo dispenser – lots of details to like and enact stories. I do wish there was something a little more complicated inside, as it doesn’t really have any new exciting techniques for me.
Verdict
The set is ultimately limited by the budget of the set. The $60 AUD limits the complexities of the techniques of the set, but aesthetically, the exterior is fantastic. This is a set that I’m sure people might add their own tweaks, but its a great LEGO City addition.
