A racing start for the LEGO 4+ Formula 1 series!

Something every racing fan has begged for and what’s not to love with the new LEGO x Formula 1 crossover series? From their own dedicated line in LEGO ICONS to the LEGO City sets we have here, let’s see how these hold up. Two race cars, one box, one BIG partnership with LEGO.

HAAS Race Car

Being part of a small set does mean that these little builds do have some overlap. But that doesn’t change their differences. The LEGO HAAS F1 Racing car gives us two printed elements for the set, their own exclusive themed driver and a clean mix of black, red and white that works well despite the model’s size. These models also hold a subtle detail of a headrest too.

Being a relatively quick snap together build, the model actually uses a lot more smaller elements than I would have expected for a +4 set. Never too early to start, I guess!

Williams Race Car

The LEGO Williams F1 car is very much the same situation as the other model; quick build, lots of small parts but an enjoyable lasting aesthetic. The model doesn’t look like it uses overly large elements in its final construction, which is a large benefit. I am not a fan of the orange headrest being the only orange colour we see in the model, but it is accurate.

Verdict

For a small 2 for 1 set, these models feel right at home. Part of me wonders if the price is a little too high, but you still get a satisfying build and experience for the price tag. And that isn’t a Speed Champions price tag either!
