Bringing Van Gogh’s Vision to Life
LEGO Designer Stijn Oom shared his excitement about bringing Van Gogh’s Sunflowers to life: “Recreating such a famous painting was both challenging and thrilling. Capturing the impasto texture and unique composition in LEGO bricks was an incredible journey. We’re proud of the final result and hope fans enjoy building it as much as we did designing it.”
A Collaboration to Celebrate
Rob Groot, Managing Director of the Van Gogh Museum, expressed his joy: “This collaboration celebrates one of our most treasured paintings. Seeing it transformed into a LEGO set with such attention to detail is truly inspiring. We hope it sparks curiosity and appreciation for Van Gogh’s art and life.”
Exclusive Launch Events
The fun doesn’t stop there! To mark the launch on March 1st, two brick replicas of Sunflowers will debut in the LEGO Store Amsterdam and the Van Gogh Museum. Fans in Amsterdam and Marseille can meet designer Stijn Oom and get their sets signed on March 1st and 2nd.
More events with the Van Gogh Museum are planned throughout the year, including a LEGO installation on display from June to August 2025. This exhibit will later travel to LEGO House Billund and LEGO World Utrecht. Plus, a virtual tour is in the works for fans worldwide to enjoy from home.
A Tribute to an Iconic Masterpiece
As the home of the largest collection of Van Gogh’s works, the Van Gogh Museum proudly celebrates Sunflowers as one of its most iconic treasures. Painted in 1889 during Van Gogh’s time in Arles, France, it’s a vivid testament to his passion for capturing beauty and light. Now, fans can experience that magic in LEGO form!
