Season 7 Episode 6 – The ‘Run the Gauntlet’ Challenge

A challenge we haven’t seen before this week on LEGO Masters Australia Grand Masters of the Galaxy! It’s called ‘Run the Gauntlet’.

The eight remaining teams must create booby traps along the trail where Hamish’s truck will drive. There are four different worlds, tropical, snowy mountains, jungle and desert.

Within each world, there are 2 base plates for each team to drive on.

Teams are encouraged to make fun, cinematic booby traps that go off in unique ways.

They will have 9 hours to build.

David & G – Australia

Jungle – ‘Monkey Business’

The banana boy have made a monkey village. As the car comes through, the first trap is 4 trees falling behind the car, into a turn table, followed by falling bananas.

Their booby traps all worked successfully.

Gabby & Owen – Australia

Jungle – ‘Ping Pong Giant Orangutan’

They have a mechanism, that when the car gets on the hand, it will flick it into the sky.

The mechanism failed to lift the car. Unsuccessfully not flipping the car.

Henry & Cade – Australia

Snowy Mountain – ‘Abandoned Sawmill’

With werewolves lurking in the shadows, they will be attacking his car. A log will fall infront of the car, forcing him into the sawmill. Followed by saws and blades.

Their booby traps all worked successfully, apart the the last swinging axe.

Trent & Alex – Australia

Jungle – ‘Animal Escape’

The car will come through, with a rolling ball to take it out. Then there is a bear using a giraffe as a battering ram. Finally, a plane that will nose dive into the car.

Their booby traps all worked successfully, but the plane had a dely missing the car.

Nick & Stacey – Canada

Snow – ‘Happy Ski Resort’

As you drive in, you’ll narrowly miss a tree fall, that will cause an avalanche. As you move forward, a yeti waits, ready to knock the car over.

Their booby traps all worked successfully.

Dai & Jiayuan – China

Tropical – ‘Zombie Apocalypse’

As the car comes through the first booby trap, the gate will open and zombies will appear. Then there is a the planes tail which will smash the car. Finally, there are rocks to roll down the mountain.

There booby traps all worked successfully.

Oskari & Aura – Finland

Desert – ‘Canyon of Greed’

When entering the Canyon, you’ll be tempted by a bag of money. Which if you do, the water town will crush you. Behind the rock, a giant net will catch the car. Moving forward, there is a dynamite trap. Followed by a huge stone. Four booby traps all up!

Their booby traps all worked successfully.

Vidar & Albin – Sweden

Desert – ‘Apocalypse City’

Last in the gauntlet line up. The people of the apocalyse story are protecting the city from the car. There is a piano to drop on the car. A catapult, that sends it into the wall and flicking the car away.

Their booby traps all worked successfully.

Challenge Winners

In the judging, Sweden can not be eliminated with the magic brick, but they can win it back.

The top two teams, Finland and David & G from Australia. Taking out the win to steal the magic brick was David & G from Australia.

In the elimination, the bottom two teams were Trent & Alex, and Gabby & Owen, both from Australia.

Going home in this episode, Gabby & Owen.
