Every build from LEGO Masters Australia Grand Masters of the Galaxy
Season 7 Episode 1 – The ‘Bring the World Together’ Challenge
LEGO Masters Australia is back for a 7th season! It’s unbelievable 7 years have passed since it first took to our screens.
In a world first, 10 teams, 4 from Australia and 6 from international seasons of LEGO Masters are battling it out again each other. Unlike last year, all of the teams have made it to the finals in their respective countries.
Let’s take a look at the first challenge of Season 7 Episode 1 of LEGO Masters Australia, Grand Masters of the Galaxy.
The challenge is called ‘Bring the World Together’, aka. ‘The Ball Contraption Build’. The build tables are set out on the building floor in a circle. In between each table is a plastic ramp. The teams must get the ball up onto the ramp safely, delivering it to the next team.
Teams whose ball does not make it completely through the build will score zero.
David & G – Australia
Mining The Earth
Being from Western Australia, David & G have built to represent what their state is known for. The ball will arrive from the other side onto a truck, where it will roll down the hill. It will be taken up the first conveyer belt, through the crusher and down into a ship. From there, the second conveyer will take up and out to the next country.
Gabby & Owen – Australia
Koi Pond
Gabby and Owen’s build is so impressive! There are around 10 hand over points for the ball to travel through in their build. It includes 7 mechanical features that need to work. Travelling over 3 lily pads, into the water where it’s picked up by a fisherman hook. Then fed inside of a fish where it finally get pooped out and sent along.
Henry & Cade – Australia
Bin Chicken Run
This article is not about judging the builds, I’ll leave that to Brickman. But I do want to point out that Henry and Cade, the first ever winners of LEGO Masters anywhere in the world, openly said on this episode that this is their worst ever build. I know their builds going forward will blow this out of the water!
In saying that, their original plan did not go to plan. But as for the ball, it starts by heading up a conveyer belt, down various ramps, into a mechanism that turns it, to the final conveyer belt sending it to the other side.
Trent & Alex – Australia
Squirrel Land
Trent and Alex used their character building style, using squirrels who want do get their hands on the ball, thinking it’s a nut. They used a simple mechanism to get the ball through, focusing more on the story.
Nick & Stacey – Canada
Tour of Canada
Representing their country, Nick and Stacey have focus on iconic Canadian themes. It will land on Niagara Falls, land in a hockey rink, where the hockey player is swinging his stick. Then it will continue through the rocky mountains, carried up by a ferris wheel style device, delivering it to the other side.
Dai & Jiayuan – China
Kung Fu Village
The Kung Fu Village, starts with a rabbit trap, will head through the cave, into a practise yard. Once it passes that ‘test’, it will become a Kung Fu Master, and will graduate, by heading up a conveyer belt, to the next side.
Oskari & Aura – Finland
Reindeer Sounds
Oskari and Aura have created a reindeer in a sauna. It uses it’s ladle to catch the ball, and move it across the build.
Unfortunately for Finland, the ball did not make it into the ladle and didn’t complete its journey.
Emily & Sarah – New Zealand
Black Hole in Space
Emily and Sarah love colour! Focused around a raindow and fun little creatures. The ball will go up over the raindow, down into the cloud before getting sent off to the next team.
Vidar & Albin – Sweden
Alien Golf Course
Vidar and Albin have gone with Aliens playing golf on the Earth. The ball will roll down the course, down a hole. Through a Swedish barm, up a conveyer belt where the ball goes through it’s last hole (hole in 1), sending it to the other side.
Paul & Nealita – USA
American Theme Park
Paul and Nealita have built a theme park, with a strong American theme. Stars and stripes everywhere! The ball will come down the roller coaster, up a lift, pass through the tunnel, coming out the clowns mouth. Finally down a roller coaster track, up another lift sending it to the other side.
Unfortunately for USA, the ball got stuck at the clowns mouth and didn’t complete its journey.
Challenge Winners
In the top 3, David & G, Dai & Jiayuan and Gabby & Owen.
The challenge winners, with so many cool mechanism and a massive amount of risk taken… Gabby and Owen!
