BB-8 returns as an upscale LEGO set in January 2026
LEGO Star Wars BB-8 is coming back! We last saw an upscale LEGO model of Star Wars character BB-8 release in September 2017, set number 75187. That LEGO Star Wars set was 1,106 pieces and was a lot more ‘brick’ looking. The new LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Astromech Droid is around half as many pieces. It also stands just 9cm (3.5in) tall, compared to the last one which was 25cm (9 inches) tall.
In saying that, it’s a lot smoother looking and super cute!
LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Astromech Droid
Dial up the cuteness with the LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Astromech Droid set.
Moreover, this detailed model recreates the iconic droid from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Move the LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Astromech Droid across a flat surface to make his head spin in random directions.
Then, open the hatch on BB-8’s body to reveal a “burner arm”, just like his memorable “thumbs-up” moment.
Additionally, place the buildable model beside the BB-8 info plaque and the standard BB-8 LEGO minifigure.
Together, they create charming Star Wars décor that will bring instant joy to any fan.
Verdict
The LEGO Star Wars BB-8 Astromech Droid will be available from the 1st January 2026 at LEGO.com.
