Stitch’s cousin Angel comes crashing in!

With LEGO creating the LEGO Disney Lilo & Stitch house, the buildable Stitch of yesteryear and the *movie* in cinemas, Stitch is certainly back in full force nowadays. But how do you follow up a set like the buildable Stitch? Well, why not give him his feminine counterpart? Angel is Stitch’s cousin and love interest, (which is a weird point to bring up at another time) and seems like a perfect fit for a sequel character. How does the LEGO Disney Angel set hold up? Read on!

LEGO Disney Angel

For those who have built buildable Stitch, this set is very similar to its predecessor. The top of the head design is almost the same, but now with tendrils from the top and an attachment spot for accessories. Angel is also missing nostrils compared to Stitch, and I don’t know why. The front legs are both built with both paws downward, making the lower half of the set symmetrical with itself.

For someone who has attempted to build in pink before, there are a lovely amount of pink parts here. Including lots of the new 2025 macaroni bend in the tendrils. There isn’t much options for display however. With a rotating head and poseable ears, what you see if what you get.

Weirdly enough, I think some of the model’s best work is on its back. There’s very little studs, and the model feels impeccably clean. The front of the model suffers from exposed studs here and there, but a well-sourced collector could make some tweaks.

The one thing about the model that throws me off however is the fingers/toes. Unlike the character they are based on (or paws in real life), these are a separate colours to the soles. The inside of the palms of a claw should match the ‘toe-beans’ in colour, which by extension matches the rest of the colour palette. I don’t know why LEGO couldn’t have introduced a few recolours here to avoid this.

Accessories

The LEGO Disney Angel set also comes with a few extras. A yellow butterfly and some lover hearts to have floating above the head. I’m sure that the hearts are there to partner with the Stitch model, but otherwise look out of place on its own.

Verdict

Overall, this is a great follow up set to the original Stitch. The set isn’t without its flaws, but flaws that I can see being easy to see past.

I feel you get more in this set rather than the Stitch model, and quite a lot rarer parts and colours too. Would recommend.
