Tech, Mech or anything in between with a 20 to 1!

LEGO DREAMZzz for this year gives us another wave of new enemies, new sets and new part moulds! Now into its third wave of enemies, we are greeted with the newest force on the block – brain suckers! Z-Blob’s Robot and Vehicle Adventures is one of Mateo’s answers to the fight – how does it hold up?

LEGO® DREAMZzz™ Z-Blob’s Robot and Vehicle Adventures 71487 January 2025 - B

Robot

LEGO DREAMZzz Z-Blob’s Robot is the newest and easiest way to score the new Z-blob mould for 2025. With a new recoloured tulip element for the character, this set gives us a version that doubles as a pilot for all the alternate builds. Sticking to a classic Z-blob themed palette, the set gives us everything from planes, submarines, cars and robots to play with.

Admittedly, not being a huge car or vehicle person, my interest in the set isn’t as strong as others would be. That being said, the set gives us a mix of 5 plane-like vehicles, 4 robots, 4 cars, 2 helicopters, 1 submarine, 4 animals and a lot of overlap.

Whereas Izzie’s equivalent set gave us all very different and unique creatures, this set is almost somewhat limited by its medium. There is the added benefit of each of these vehicles being able to accommodate Z-blob, so there is still a ‘Dreamzzz‘ factor to it.

Mateo

The LEGO DREAMZzz Mateo figure wears a slime version of a the classic Futuron Space Torso. I’m sure Classic LEGO Space fans are also enjoying the slime version of their logo too! The figure is equipped with a short pencil weapon, and hair with flecks of green and red in it. Overall the figure isn’t bad, but the torso carries it.

Verdict

Although not as well done as Izzie’s own 20:1 set, it is a bit of joy for vehicle based play. It’s not my favourite out of the two, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
