Eevee – An easy buy or a LEGO Pokémon for the PC Boxes?

I, alongside most of the internet and LAN at the moment, cannot believe that we are able to review LEGO Pokémon! It’s such an insane thing that I did not think would happen within my lifetime. But yes, LEGO Pokémon is here and we have our hands on the new sets releasing this on Pokémon Day 2026! With this review, we are taking a look at Eevee. The Evolution Pokémon! With so many fans holding this Pokémon near and dear to their heart, how does this cute little fox look in LEGO form? Read on!

Eevee

Coming in as the smallest set of the wave didn’t save the set from big expectations. LEGO Pokémon Eevee is the delighted favourite of many Pokémon fans, and some would argue is the better mascot for the brand.

This set takes no corners here in trying to live up to this standard, with a lot of a articulate details to give Eevee the signature ‘fluff’. From the pointed ears on the top of their head to their tail, there is also a lot of articulation in the model. The head spins around on a ball joint, albeit with little upwards strength, the limbs all move in forward-backward motions and the tail moves on a click joint.

The inside of the model also isn’t without its own references for builders to find. A rainbow of coloured bricks to represent the original 3 evolutions in the tail, and coloured D-tiles in the face for all of them.

The model also gives us printed elements instead of stickers, a decision I welcome wholeheartedly. As this is going to be built by many kids around the world, ease of building and worry-free of messing up a sticker is a great choice. What I didn’t expect was the addition of printed elements for Eevee’s paws on the hind legs. Great addition, although unexpected.

Balancing LEGO with Realism

As far as criticisms go, I have little. Yes, there are moments across the build that have exposed studs and elements showing, but I believe this comes from LEGO’s need to ensure things actually look LEGO-like. My initial reaction when first seeing this set had me mentally not even notice the studs – I was too blown away from the set itself. It’s almost like there is this soft intricate balance between LEGO and the Pokemon itself that comes together in unison in a way that is just, incredibly effective here.

Congratulations to the designers – this might be one of my all time favourite LEGO sets – and it’s not over $100.

Verdict

This is a set that has such a strong hype behind it to be good, and I’m so glad that the LEGO model met my expectations, if not succeeded them.

With this set being the cheapest on the commercial release of LEGO Pokémon, shortchanging consumers on model quality may have affected how people respond to the theme as a whole. But here? I have seen nothing but absolute love online for this set, and love in my heart for it.

There is always talk about licensed themes and pricing, but this is a model that feels kind of worth it. It means a lot to a lot of people and the price point is certainly more accessible than most other sets and themes. If I think of other LEGO models that sit on desks and work stations, I think that this is one of those sets that would be here. Heck, even bump a few of them off.

This will undeniably be a tough set to try and track down, as there is now a possibility of scalpers getting their hands on this set. But for those of you who can get the set (either through your local stores or LEGO.com), I cannot recommend it enough.

I very, very rarely get the urge to buy a LEGO set that I have been provided for review. Normally that would sate me enough, but not here. I have two daughters who absolutely adore Pokémon, and I need to purchase this set for each of them too (because they aren’t getting this one! I want it!). It’s just begging for some fun accessories like hats and bows!
