Brickheadz in a half-shell!
It has been quite some time since we have gotten some Brickheadz to review, and what a reintroduction this is. With a lot of resurgence of late (animated films, MTG crossover etc), the turtles seem to be the latest hit of nostalgia.
So we see LEGO wanting a piece of that pie (or pizza!) by giving us a new 4-pack of Brickheadz. But how do they hold up? Read on! Introducing the LEGO BrickHeadz TMNT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Turtles
This set is admittedly deceptive. I saw four builds that looked the same and I thought that there wouldn’t be much to surprise me. The LEGO BrickHeadz TMNT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will not feel too repetitive.
Well, boy was I wrong. Not only do our titular heroes all have different colours, each character has their own bandana, belt and shell design that is unique to them. Each character does have the same precipice of shell design mind you, but its the design changes for their weapons being holstered that changes.
As with some Brickheadz, we also get a nice Easter egg of a Pizza in the belly!
Each of the characters come in their own unique colour from the rest of their brothers. With Lime-Green for Donatello, Dark Green for Leo, Bright Green for Raph and Turquoise for Mikey. I do like that there was this variation between the turtles, but I can’t help but think that the colours are a bit… wrong? It might be my own opinion, but I do think that Mikey and Donatello should have been swapped, and the same for Raph and Leo.
Due to the way the bandanas are built, this isn’t a simple swap either, but with a tiny amount of parts, this is a change I think I’ll be making.
Verdict
With reviews like this, there isn’t a lot to break down with details like other reviews. Most of what you see is what you get with the LEGO BrickHeadz TMNT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Do I like this set? Well, as a fan of the Turtles, yes. Do I think I will leave them as they are? No. I think I may end up making a few tweaks, and I could see some fans following in suit.
Is it a good set? For Brickheadz Collectors, this is a no-brainer. But for TMNT fans? It’s been a while since we have seen TMNT in the LEGO scene, so it’s an absolute win there too.
