The Peely Side

Starting with the Peely side, we get ourselves a very clear yellow banana standing atop a rock. The model is asymmetrical with not only flesh, but pose too.

It is worth noting that there is only one sticker here, and it’s the fruit sticker on the back of his head. I think it is kind of funny as to how that played out, like real fruit! Well done LEGO…

Peely’s body has a number of printed elements here, but none so that you couldn’t remove the pieces to make him ‘cleaner’ (or more ripe) if you wanted. With a bit of tweaking, I do think it entirely possible to get two of this set and combine into a normal Peely, but the cost is quite high.

The Bone Side

I love the skeletal side of Peely quite a lot, with the use of boomerangs atop the stalk of the banana, and down to the ribcage and hands.

The model uses a few fancy techniques to pull off the build. With the translucent posing stand from LEGO Marvel for the ribcage, or the use of brackets for teeth. There is too much to try and explain in this small section, but this was the part of the build I enjoyed most.

Peely Bone Accessories

Peely‘s backpack is equipped with the banana bunches first seen in LEGO Super Mario, which feel like a fun addition if they didn’t seem so small. He is huge, and holding onto one of these makes them way to small. But I like them here more than I would not. So that’s a win.

Verdict

All in all, Peely Bone is a pretty cool set to have on your desk, showing off passion for the Fortnite brand. However, he is admittedly my most disappointing set of the LEGO Fortnite wave. That isn’t to say that he’s a bad set, not bad at all. But the price tag compared to other sets of the wave is wildly disproportionate.

It’s a set that clearly has an intention in mind of possibly getting fans to buy two of the set to make a full Peely figure, but the cost is too high to me. I love the skeleton, I love the details. But if it was between this and the LEGO Fortnite Battle Bus, Battle Bus wins.
